W&B Re-Entry facilities has been contracted with the California Department of Corrections to house inmates and work furlough since 1988, however, the facility has contracted with the State in the same capacity since 1980 under the name of Model Ex Offenders of San Diego County, Inc., a non-profit organization.
The history of Model Ex Offenders, Inc., Which now operates under the name of W&B Re-Entry facilities dates back to 1970. From 1970 to 1980, this facility has contracted with several different agencies including, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of San Diego, and the County of San Diego to house, parolees and persons on probation. In 1980, W&B Re-Entry, and out growth of Model Ex Offenders, contracted with the Department of Corrections to house, work furlough, inmates, making it the oldest private work furlough facility in San Diego county.
W&B Re-Entry facilities, policies, reflect the numerous changes that have been instituted by the Department of Corrections for the operation of a work furlough facility over the past twenty years. The facility provides a comprehensive program designed on an individual basis to prepare participants for a successful return into the community with specific emphasis placed on developing economic and social stability.

We are no longer operating under the Model Cities Grant as Model Ex Offenders of San Diego, a 501(C)-3 organization that originated in 1970.
Our current for-profit corporation, W&B Re-Entry Facilities, has evolved from that non-profit entity, and residents are required to contribute to the cost of their stay. We offer affordable pricing and various support programs to assist individuals on their journey toward positive change.
